Description


This course is aimed at the professors of the University of Azuay and will allow to analyze the value of soft skills, fundamental to increase employability and to improve job performance. Also known as transversal skills, soft skills refer to personal traits that help increase positivity and improve relationships between people. Likewise, these competencies allow us to know how much people know themselves and their ability to manage themselves. This is related to personal development that involves emotional, behavioral, and cognitive components, without neglecting emotional and social intelligence.

Objectives and methodology


 Analyze the value and impact of soft skills in personal training.

 Reflect on the importance of these competencies and propose options to implement in the teaching-learning processes.

The methodology will be participatory, always based on the experience of teachers to reach a process of collective construction of knowledge. Among others, the following activities will be carried out:

- Mini conferences: On specific topics of the course.

- Learning practices.

- Autonomous work of teachers.

CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

The course is structured by 4 topics, with a workload of 10 hours (8 face-to-face hours and 2 hours of autonomous work through readings and reflections), distributed as follows:

  1. Psychological well-being
  2. Leadership and teamwork
  3. Social Competences
  4. Emotional Regulation Strategies

Certificates


Once the activities and requirements for the development of the course have been fulfilled, the participants will receive the certificate of approval of the workshop.: "Soft skills for teachers", based on the provisions of the Regulations of the Department of Continuing Education, that is, that the participant obtains a minimum of 70% in the academic evaluation and 80% attendance at face-to-face classes and tutorials.
