In the development of the course, legal and regulatory aspects of the law and regulations of fire prevention, concepts of fire engineering, first aid, management of emotions, evacuation will be addressed, reinforced with specific practices and with an emergency drill in the Institution.

Objectives and methodology
Objectives:
General:
Train members of the University of Azuay Community in principles of action and response to minor emergencies that occur in our facilities and that affect students, visitors, administrative staff, teachers, facilities, goods and processes of the institution.
Specific:
At the end of this course, the participant will have been able to:
Know, analyze, determine and evaluate the types of risks present in the institution.
Apply theoretical and practical knowledge to act in a timely manner, controlling or minimizing the consequences in the event of an emergency.
Methodology
Scheduled activities:
During the course the participants will carry out individual tasks, group tasks, and will actively participate in the scheduled participatory applications.
Individual Jobs:
They will consist of the creative and reflective resolution of questionnaires that will be presented to the participants. The works must be submitted on the dates indicated.
Group Work (practical application)
They will be the practical application of the theoretical knowledge obtained from the different modules, according to the indications of the tutor.
Final work
The work will be prepared from the beginning to the end of the course with the approval of the trainer.
The instructions for carrying out the work and its support will be given by the tutor during the course.
Duration
Duration: 40 hours, 30 contact hours, 10 hours autonomous work.
Contents
Module I Emergency Introduction
- Legal regulations (0.5h).
- Types of emergencies (0.5h).
- Emergency and contingency plan (2h).
Module II Fire brigades
- Principles, fire dynamics, extinguishing fundamentals, fire classes, extinguishing agents, field test with fire extinguishers, institutional firefighter safety. Organization of the Brigade (4h).
- Practical Application (4h)
Module III First aid brigade
- Vital signs, airway obstruction, CPR, Hemorrhages, Shock, bandages, wounds, fractures, skull and spine injuries, burns, poisonings, transport of the injured. Organization of the Brigade. (4h)
- Practical Application (4h)
Module IV Evacuation brigade
- Evacuation routes, concentration areas, emergency alarms, area or floor leaders, evacuation and registration leaders, organization and counting leaders, emergency signage, communication plan. Organization of the Brigade (2h).
- Practical Application (2h)
Module IV Simulacrum
- Execution of a drill to measure the organizational and response capacity of the participants, as well as the operation and performance of the brigades during an emergency (3h).
Certificates
Once the activities and requirements for the development of the course have been fulfilled, the participants will receive the certificate of Approval of the course: "Training brigade members", based on the provisions of the Regulations of the Department of Continuing Education, that is, that the participant obtains a minimum of 70% in the academic evaluation and 80% attendance at face-to-face classes.
