Geomatics and Photogrammetry for the Management and Visualization of Cultural Heritage

Description


This course aims to introduce the student to Geomatics and its potential applications in various fields, particularly in the documentation, management and visualization of architecture and heritage. In addition to globally introducing the concept of Geomatics and showing its current applications, it will deepen in Photogrammetry with drones and cameras allowing the student to know the theoretical and practical aspects of this technique applied to the field of heritage documentation.

Similarly, the importance of asset management through the use of geoportals and mobile apps, as well as the processing of spatial data with Agisoft Photoscan software for obtaining and viewing 3D products will be explored. Finally, the student will be able to apply and demonstrate the knowledge acquired in a real practical case in the municipality of Nabón.

Objectives and methodology


General Objective:

Review the Applied Geomatics tools and logical procedures for the documentation and diagnosis of heritage assets.

Specific objectives:

  • Understand the theoretical foundations of geomatics and photogrammetry, from an integrative perspective that facilitates its application in heritage contexts or not.
  • Apply the methods, techniques and technological tools related to geomatics and photogrammetry for the purposes of documentation of cultural heritage.
  • Strengthen the capacity for analysis and diagnosis of cultural heritage, through the application of theoretical and practical aspects related to geomatics and photogrammetry.

Certificates


Once the activities and requirements for the development of the course have been fulfilled, the participants will receive the certificate of approval based on what is established in the Regulations of the Continuing Education Department, that is, that the participant obtains a minimum of 70% in the academic evaluation and 80% attendance at synchronous and face-to-face sessions.
