Learning Objects and Emerging Web Technologies II

Description

It is increasingly recognized that learning and knowledge retention increases when students are actively engaged in tasks and when they are placed in situations in which they are encouraged to share their findings and reflections (Freeman et al., 2014). This allows us to support and promote the development of higher order cognitive skills. As Kitsantas (2013) puts it: the ability to evaluate, analyze, interpret, and be able to demonstrate critical and creative thinking are among the essential cognitive skills of the 21st century.

From what is outlined in these lines, the relevance arises to present the present proposal for the elaboration of a second module in the field of the Virtual Teachers course, which has been called Learning Objects and web tools.

Objectives and methodology

General Purpose

Actively introduce the participant to the design of objects that allow him to enhance and adapt the contents of a subject according to the didactic, pedagogical and technology needs of a variety of digital formats, mediating learning processes between students and teachers with the help of virtual environments of learning in a motivating and innovative way.

Specific objectives

✓Recognize the possibilities of using digital resources taken from the Internet, in accordance with copyright legislation.

✓Implement technology as a didactic element and mediator of knowledge and skills.

✓Allow teachers the opportunity to investigate the creative uses of technology for their daily work.

✓Participate from your area, in the phases of development of Learning Objects (LO), under transversal models that respond to specific educational needs.

✓Integrate technology within the educational reality of the participants, as a transversal tool for use by the different subjects.

✓Generate a first Learning Object Store (AOA), where you can search, select and evaluate OA, for its application and pedagogical appropriation. 4.-

Methodology

The proposal is based on the principles of constructivist education and collaborative learning, motivating the participants to apply what they have learned in the theoretical and practical processes of their daily work, allowing them to generate new knowledge. Consider the good use of technology as a transversal educational pedagogical tool, promoting creativity, critical thinking and the generation of knowledge in a cooperative way in teachers and students. It follows then that scientific knowledge is valid for teaching in any area, as well as for the application in the training of the teaching staff that wants to LEARN TO LEARN how the new techniques of Information and communication are used. (Hurtado, 2019) From this theory we take the process of collective construction of knowledge, we point towards social constructivism (Azuay), studied in depth by Lev Vygoskty, which establishes that knowledge is a process of interaction between the subject and the environment .

Virtual Tutoring:

Tutoring is the communication space to design agreements, individual or group plans, trajectories and academic strategies so that each individual who is being trained is much more competent.

The tutoring is aimed at revitalizing the teaching practice, providing participants with personalized or group attention during their training process, thus allowing clear and timely detection of factors that may affect the academic performance of the participants, the tutor is co-manager of the participants, which helps both in global training and in knowledge management.

The tutorials will be carried out through the Zoom and Meet video conference platforms (Frequent queries from participants, concerns, etc.)
