Theater for Teachers

Description

Theatricality is defined as the organization of the gaze of the other and is a constitutive part of the human being, it is present from childhood and is maintained throughout life. People are constantly playing roles and wearing social masks. The theater becomes aware of this natural fact and transforms it into art. An art that allows us to look at ourselves as we are, understand ourselves and question ourselves. When practicing it, it stimulates creativity, memory, teamwork, problem solving, improves self-esteem, promotes understanding between people because it allows them to put themselves in the shoes of the other. When used in teaching, it is a tool that promotes meaningful learning, improves the teaching-learning process, breaks with the mind-body dichotomy since it works in a single comprehensive approach that interrelates mathematical logical thinking with symbolic and spiritual thinking.

In this course, the basic principles of theater art will be addressed, such as: corporal expression, voice management, distribution in space, the creation of characters and the staging of shows based on a pedagogy of play, promoting the confrontation with ridicule and the other's gaze

Concepts such as: action, rhythm - time, sequences, movement scores, corporality, movement qualities, level variations, sound, location in space will be used.
