2. Origin of liquid effluents

- Composition of an industrial effluent

- Polluting parameters and their effects on water bodies

- Current legislation

 

3. Characterization of liquid effluents

- Preliminary survey

- Flow measurement: types of gauges

- Sampling: types, frequency and sampling sites. Volume and conservation of

sample based on analytical determination. Representativeness of the sample.

- Specific parameters of different types of industry

 

4. Treatment of liquid effluents

4.1 Preliminary treatment: objectives, necessary units

4.2 Primary Treatment: objectives, classification and function of each unit

4.3 Secondary Treatment: 

a) Description of different types of treatment systems

b) Description of the biological process. The floc: Definition, functions and structure.

c) Microbiology of activated sludge: microorganisms that participate in purification. Bacteria, protozoa and metazoa.

d) Operational parameters and variables that affect the debugging process.

f) Operation of laboratory biological reactors and effluent treatability

 

5. Tertiary treatment with emphasis on treatment of sulphides, metals such as chromium, nickel, zinc, copper, etc., with their respective treatability tests.

 

6. Control, Monitoring and Operation of treatment plants

7 Workshop

- Carrying out practical exercises in groups on the topics covered in the course and presentation of the results.

Price:

The course has a cost of $ 350.00 per participant. Includes registration, materials and certificate. 

 

The University of Azuay sponsors the 60% of the total value to its teachers, administrators and students, conditional on its approval. The cost of this course will be $ 140.00.
