Learn about the use of digital platforms with artificial intelligence that allow the use of alternative methodologies in learning and academic research processes.

Objectives

To develop in participants the knowledge and skills necessary to use various digital platforms, in order to improve learning processes through the use of digital tools with artificial intelligence.

Specific objectives

Develop skills in the use of digital tools based on artificial intelligence to optimize learning processes, facilitating the organization, classification and access to relevant sources of information, as well as implementing online evaluation systems.

Methodology

The course focuses on a practical and participatory approach, using digital tools and active strategies that encourage autonomous and collaborative learning. The interactive platform Moodle will be used, along with artificial intelligence (AI) tools, to optimize the research and learning processes. Participants will work on group projects, applying what they have learned to solve real problems. In addition, practical sessions, tutorials, and continuous feedback will be offered. Teamwork and collaborative activities will strengthen social learning and the development of skills applicable in the classroom.

Participants are required to bring their laptop.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and its impact on education

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Basics: Definition, History, Types of AI and Their Applications.

  • The role of AI in education: How AI is transforming the educational environment and classrooms.

  • AI tools for learning: Presentation of digital platforms and resources that use AI in assessment systems.

  • AI applications in teaching: Practical cases on the use of AI in the classroom to personalize teaching and facilitate student understanding.

Practical implementation of AI tools in the classroom

  • Practical work with AI: Participants will learn how to implement AI tools in educational activities, exploring how they can be used in their specific context.

  • Practical exercises: Applying AI to design personalized activities that promote individualized student learning.

  • Discussion on ethics in the use of AI in education: Reflection on ethical responsibility in the implementation of AI in the classroom, including data privacy and equity in access.

Evaluation and presentation of final results

  • Presentation of results: Participants will present the results of the implementations carried out with AI in their classrooms, sharing the exercises, resources and activities created.

  • Analysis of the results obtained: Evaluation of the impact of AI on learning and teaching, discussing strengths and areas for improvement.

  • Group discussion: Collective reflection on the opportunities and challenges that AI presents in the educational environment.

  • Suggestions for future implementations: Discussion on how to effectively integrate AI into teaching practice and the best strategies to maximize its potential in the classroom.

  • Research and preparation of educational materials with AI
    • Participants will research and develop educational resources using available AI tools, such as content generators, adaptive learning platforms, and virtual assistants.
  • Development of a final project
    • Participants will design a teaching unit or educational activity that integrates AI, applying the knowledge acquired in the in-person modules.

Once the activities and requirements for the development of the course have been fulfilled, the participants will receive the Certificate of Approval, based on what is established in the Regulations of the Department of Continuing Education, that is, that the participant obtains a minimum of 70% in the academic evaluation and 80% attendance at the face-to-face or synchronous classes.
