Module 2 - Circle of scientific writing
Hours: 100 (12 classroom hours, 18 hours of tutorials and 70 of autonomous work)
Responsible: Carla Hermida and Daniela Ballari, with the support of 4 UDA researchers in specific areas according to the profiles of the participants.
The tutors will be contacted and invited to collaborate depending on the profile of the participants. Tutors are expected to spend an average of 1 hour per week with each assigned participant in meetings and review of writing progress.
Methodology
Module 2 - Circle of scientific writing
The reading circle will be structured as follows:
Biweekly face-to-face meetings will be held with all participants where specific instructions will be given to diagram and write specific sections of an article. During the 15 days after the joint meetings, the participants will develop the specific sections and, if required, will request the tutoring of an advisory researcher in the thematic area of the article. The assigned tutors will review the progress every fortnight and make observations / recommendations for the improvement of the writing, presentation and flow of information contained in the article. It should be clarified that the tutors will not make observations regarding the scientific content, or the methods or procedures used. That is, the role of the tutor is not to become an author, but to be an external reviewer of the writing of the work.
